Mini Medical School for College PreMeds

This program provides college premeds an overview of medical school. The program is 2- 4 hours long and is tailored to the needs of the sponsoring group. In addition, Dr. Rubin offers lectures on a numerous subjects for premeds ranging from interview skills to the changes in the new  MCAT.  

Programs have been held at the following schools:

Mini Podiatric Medical School

The field of Podiatry is not well known among pre-health professional students. To raise awareness of the field and to encourage students to consider a career in podiatry, Dr. Rubin had run a Mini Podiatric Medical School at Barry University’s School of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery.  

Dr. Rubin’s son Jason graduated from this school in May 2012. This program is 4 hours long and provides an overview of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery including 10 hands on experiences ranging from taking vital signs to casing fractured ankles.

is an attending pediatrician at Naperville Pediatric Associates since 1988.  He received his B.A. in Biology from New York University, his Ph.D. and M.D. from the University of Chicago where he also completed his pediatric residency.  Dr. Rubin is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.  He is on the active staff at Edward Hospital, Naperville IL.  Dr. Rubin started his Mini Medical School with his son, Zachary E. Rubin, M.D. , back in 2004.  Dr. Zach is now a resident in pediatrics.

Mini Medical School for High School Students

A 20 hour competitive program for junior, senior and advanced sophomore students This program is designed for students who are serious about pursuing a career in medicine.

The next Summer Mini Medical School Experience Program will be on Saturday June 18 & repeated on Sunday June 19th. Both programs are identical.  Students entering high school to college juniors are permitted to attend this fast paced high intensity program.  The program is run at the Edward Plainfield ER Conference Rooms located at
