The field of Podiatry is not well known among pre-health professional students. To raise awareness of the field and to encourage students to consider a career in podiatry, Dr. Rubin created a Mini Podiatric Medical School at Barry University’s School of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Rubin’s son Jason graduated from this school in May 2012. This program is 4 hours long and provides an overview of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery including 10 hands-on experiences ranging from taking vital signs to cast fractured ankles. This program will be offered if 20 or more students request it.
Dr. Rubin believes every student can obtain a successful career in healthcare but many students need guidance, counselling and help finding their path. Dr. Rubin has provided guidance to students from more than 20 years. He has provided help with every step of the process for many many students. If you need need help, first email Dr. Rubin at DrRubin@MiniMedicalSchool.com with your resume and include any standardized test score, like an ACT or SAT. Dr. Rubin will evaluate you without any cost, and then offer you either a comprehensive fee to cover the cost of mentoring you for the process or you can use Dr. Rubin to help you for your specific need. For example, he can mock interview with you or give you essay feedback and school selection advice. Thank you for the email and all your hard work for us in the program this year. Mini Medical School has opened my eyes to the various and versatile fields of medicine.
My daughter found the Mini Med program and the real-life experience you offered very helpful. She had a keen interest in pursuing Medicine as her field of study in college and attending this program has reinforced this interest.
I really appreciate all your preparation. Although it may have seemed to me like a simple suggestion, your advice to really know my resume front and back really paid off at the end of the day. Thank you so much Dr. Rubin for dedicating your time to prep me for the interview. I really feel the 4 hours we spent together made a difference
